This past weekend was the Not Dead Yet music festival thingy.
I was asked if I could pick up one of the bands from the Buffalo airport Friday, in exchange for free admission to any or all of the shows that were happening.
I said yes, but then sort of regretted my decision. Just because money is tight right now and even though I was getting in for free, I’d have to account for food and fuel.
Regardless, I had already said yes and couldn’t back out now.
I was a little nervous picking up the band, just ‘cause guys in bands are typically stand off-ish or have a ‘I’m a cool guy in a band’ complex.
That wasn’t the case at all. I picked up ‘Negative Degree’ at about 4:30pm and left them at about 4:30am.
They were probably some of the raddest dudes I have ever met. They gave me gas money, bought me dinner, and even gave me a free shirt.
We got over the border with a breeze, even though one of them didn’t even have a passport. The car ride was fun (lots of Metallica).
Ate at some Stampede burger place in Toronto.
I wasn’t even planning on staying for the Friday shows, but I’m glad I did because I had a lot of fun with these guys.
